Still in the Miami area for work, and stopped by Village Tavern in Pembroke Pines, FL for Happy Hour.
Truffle Shoestring Fries (Parmesan and Truffle Aioli) – I f’n love truffles. Black, white, purple, you name it, I love it. However, if you get some crappy, cheap truffle oil, it’ll taste like garbage. This is it the case here. These shoestring fries are crisp, clean, and 100% on point. The truffle aioli is light (I wish there was more), and goes with the parm shoestring fries like a champ. MOE TRAIN APPROVED!

Steamed PEI Mussels with a garlic, pesto and white wine sauce – Another win. The mussels smell clean (unlike some shitty mussels I had a month or 2 ago), the sauce is rich, toasted baguette is flavorful, and the didn’t skim on the white wine. Mussels are delicious. MOE TRAIN APPROVED!

Thai Chicken Nachos – Spicy chicken, Thai peanut sauce, snow peas, cilantro, scallions, cheddar and Monterrey Jack cheese. These are way better in theory. If you know me, you know I love peanut sauce, but I got these boxed almost immediately. I’ll snack on them tomorrow. Maybe. Nah. Nevermind.

Service: She was busy, and nice, but I sat at the table for 15 minutes minimum when I first sat down, and a few other things that weren’t stellar…
